NEWSLETTER OCTOBER 1995

WELCOME to all new and returning members ! The purpose of the Newsletter is to keep you up-to-date with what’s going on in the Club. You will find that you’ve joined one of the most vibrant and active clubs at Queens. Whether your interest is self-defence, fitness conditioning, the art, competition, or just a whole host of new drinking mates, you’ll soon come to realise that the you’ve joined the right Club!

CLUB EVENTS
13 November - AGM and first ‘official’ big drinking session of the year. However, new members with a fondness for alcohol will be pleased to note that the intense workouts during training tend to work up a good thirst and consequently ‘unofficial’ sessions are by now tradition within the Club.

SUB-COMMITTEE
Due to the busy schedule over the past year, the Sub-committee was formed to look after the social events calendar of the Club. If you feel you’re the sort of person who could organise a ****-up in a brewery we’d all be very keen to avail.

COURSES AND EVENTS
The Club regularly organises and attends a variety of quality technical courses and events. Details for this academic year’s events calendar have not as yet been finalised, but members shall be informed during training sessions.

These sessions are designed to accelerate the learning pace of the individual and their effectiveness is borne out by the competitive success of the Club to date.

TRAINING TIMES
All of the sessions below are held in the minor hall of Queens PE centre.

Tuesdays - 18:00 - 20:00
Fridays - 18:00 - 20:00
Sundays - 12:00 - 14:00

Many individuals who begin martial arts find their first class rather daunting ... DON’T ! Come with an open mind and a willingness to learn and don’t be afraid to ask questions. You don’t need a gi (karate suit) - loose fitting clothing is fine.

SEE YOU SOON...
