When we Train

The QUB Sailing Club usually trains at weekends but training times vary so you need to make contact with us. We operate during the summer period as well as term times, so if you are free and want to give sailing a go just drop us an email. sailing@qub.ac.uk

Where we Train

The QUB Sailing Club trains mainly at Lagan Watersports Center and Holywood Yacht Club however we do arrange visits to other yacht clubs from time to time for RYA training courses, racing, etc.

What to Bring

What you need to bring depends on where we are sailing, the Lagan Watersports center provibes wetsuits, sailing boots and buoyancy aids. However if we are sailing at Holywood Yacht club you need to provibe all your own sailing equipment wetsuit, sailing boots and buoyancy aid. Generally no matter where we are sailing you should aways bring a complete change of clothes, towel and shower equipment.

If the wetsuit puts you off, you can always go for waterproof trousers, coat, etc. However if you go for this option you really need bring a complete change of clothes, towel and shower equipment, just in case you fall in.

Joining

Everyone is welcome from beginners to advanced. However at the minute the club is primarily for beginners, but we are always looking to attract advanced sailors to the club particularly those interested in racing. So if you are interested in helping to organise sailing for advanced sailors we would like to hear from you. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced sailor, if you are interesting in joining just drop us an email. sailing@qub.ac.uk
