The N. Ireland Cancer Registry is part of the Department of Epidemiology & Public
Health and was established in 1994 from the old registry run by the DHSS since 1959.

Aim of the Registry

The aim of the Registry is to provide accurate, timely information on cancers occurring in the population of N. Ireland to enable research, planning and education so the burden of disease may be reduced.

The Objectives of the Registry are:

*Carers=Professionals or institutions involved in the screening, diagnosis, cure or care of people with cancer.
