Thank you for visiting the on-line home of the Queen's University Mooting Society. Whether you are a new member of the Mooting Society, a law student, or just want to know what 'mooting' is, we hope you enjoy these pages.
Although there has been a history of mooting at Queen's University, the Mooting Society, in its present format, was started up at the beginning of 2003. The objects of the Mooting Society are the furtherance of skills associated with advocacy and legal analysis through participation, preparation or observation of mooting competitions, mock trials or other like events. The Society also organises other events, which the Committee deems appropriate to further these overall objects.
If you still wish to join the Society, you can do so at any time (please check contact page for membership fee etc.)
Remember, mooting can be an intellectual ordeal, but it is a great way to improve self-confidence, research technique, public speaking ability, AND it is supposed to be fun too!
