2003 - Changes to Foil and Sabre
Technical changes have been made by the International Fencing Federation (FIE) to Foil and Sabre fencing. These changes can be read in the FIE Press Release.
These changes are aimed at reducing the amount of double lights in these two styles of fencing allowing referees to be more objective, and the sport easier for spectators to understand.
Other, not so technical changes include a reduced number of competitions and competitors eligible for FIE World Ranking as well as changes to quotas for FIE committee members.
