Mecon 11: Terms and Conditions

  1. Mecon is a non-smoking event.
  2. All attendees should treat each other with respect.
  3. All attendees bringing personal belongings do so at their own risk. Mecon accepts no responsibility for stolen, lost or damaged personal belongings.
  4. Photographs and video recording may be taken during the event. This will only be used for promotional proposes. No specific footage of any individual will be used without prior consent
  5. No attendees should involve themselves in disorderly or disruptive behaviour
  6. Mecon requires that all attendees must comply with the instructions of the event staff at all times, e.g. in matters of health & safety or licensing laws.
  7. Mecon requires that all attendees comply with all convention signs and notices.
  8. Attendees should not leave the designated convention area except in the case of an emergency.
  9. Attendees under the age of 12 years of age must be escorted by an adult or guardian.
  10. The convention facilities include a bar for use by attendees over the age of 18 and over only. Supply of alcohol to minors is prohibited. For this reason admission to any events taking place in the evening, e.g. pub quiz is restricted to attendees over the age of 18 and over only.
  11. Timetabled events may be cancelled or rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances. We will try our best arrange alternative events; however this may not always be possible. Refunds will not be available for any changes to the event line up and schedule.
  12. Serious breaches of convention policy will result in those involved having to leave the event. No refund will be given. In instances where criminal law has been broken the police will be called.
  13. The convention organisers reserve the right to revoke membership at any time.
  14. Any attendees seeking to cancel their registration acknowledge that no refunds will be possible, except under extenuating circumstances and at the discretion of the Mecon committee.
  15. All attendees must ensure that their mobile phones are switched off during all programme items, including all screenings. We also insist that there is no disruptive talking.
  16. All attendees must wear their Mecon badges at all times
  17. All guests appear subject to work commitments
  18. All weapons, including replicas or imitations are prohibited.
