Where To Stay

The Elms

Accommodation for MeCon 11 is available in the Queen's Elms Village on the Malone Road, just 10 minutes walk from the venue. This will be Bed & Breakfast, in single en-suite rooms, for £35per night (45euro) .

The Elms should be an extension of the Convention, as a couple of our guests will be staying there and we plan to have at least one late-night gathering for the night-owls among us! :)

Accommodation must be booked in advance through the MeCon committee. Please mail meconbelfast@yahoo.co.uk to reserve your room, indicating what dates you will be staying and how many rooms you require, and forward payment asap to MeCon 11, 115 Malone Road, Belfast BT9 6SP. Please make cheques payable to QUB Sci-Fi and Fantasy Society.

Numbers in the Elms are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.

Wellington Park Hotel - a 4 star hotel, very well appointed, all mod cons and all that jazz.
£79/night single, £90/night double/twin.

Malone Lodge Hotel - Another 4 star hotel, again pretty decent facilities. Not *quite* as jazzy as the Wellington Park, it’s still pretty swish, and it’s on a quiet-ish side road.
£65/night single, £89/night double/twin.

Benedict’s Hotel - 3-star “boutique-style” hotel (whatever that means!). It’s decent enough, but I’m not too sure whether the bar stays open late for residents. It is very busy most days, as it’s right slap-bang in the middle of the nightclubs.
£60/night single, £70/night double/twin.

Days Hotel - 3 star budget hotel near the city centre. Facilities are decent but fairly basic.
All rooms £75/night, though they do a lot of special offers for weekend stays and the like.

Madison’s Hotel - Another 3 star “boutique” hotel. It’s not quite as busy as Benedict’s. It’s in the middle of the Botanic area (University/Bohemian quarter).
£70/night single, £80/night double/twin.

Holiday Inn Express - A decent “budget” hotel, 114 rooms and plenty of car parking space.
Rooms start from £65/night.

Jurys Inn Belfast - City centre hotel, reasonably priced and convenient to virtually everything in Belfast.
Rooms start from £84/night double/twin. Special weekend break offers, £100 per person sharing.

The Malone Guesthouse - It’s a very nice Victorian double-fronted house, with 13 bedrooms, and I have noticed a couple of dragon figurines in the window whenever I walk past, so they’re at least partially Sci-Fi/Fantasy friendly! :)
£35/night single, £60/night double/twin.

Pearl Court Guesthouse - Very close to Queen’s and the Wellington Park Hotel.
Prices start from £25pp/pn
